Toggenburg Bergbahnen AG's commitment to sustainability has been certified according to international standards (ISO). In addition, the company belongs to the highest ‘leading’ level of Switzerland Tourism's ‘Swisstainable’ sustainability programme.

Sustainability programme and strategy of Switzerland Tourism
Swisstainable is a sustainability programme and strategy of the same name from Switzerland Tourism. The term is made up of ‘Swiss’ and ‘Sustainable’. Switzerland Tourism describes sustainability as enrichment and writes:
Sustainable travel doesn’t necessarily mean having to go without. Sustainable travel means greater awareness and depth and more enjoyment.
Businesses in the tourism sector that want to commit to sustainable tourism can take part in the programme. All participating businesses are categorised into three levels: committed, engaged and leading. Toggenburg Bergbahnen AG and the Chäserrugg area have been categorised at the highest level, level 3 leading.

ISO 9001

ISO 9001:2015 defines a set of standards and principles to help organisations provide products and services of consistent quality while continuously improving their processes. Some of the key principles set out in the standard include customer focus, continual improvement, process approach and leadership involvement.
Certification to ISO 9001:2015 demonstrates to customers and other stakeholders that an organisation has a robust quality management system in place and is committed to continually improving quality and customer satisfaction.
ISO 14001
International standard for environmental management systems (EMS)
Similar to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001 defines a set of standards and principles to help organisations identify, monitor, control and continuously improve environmental impacts. The standard focuses on how an organisation manages its environmental impacts and improves its performance against environmental objectives.
Certification to ISO 14001 demonstrates to customers, stakeholders and the public that an organisation takes its environmental impact seriously, complies with legal requirements and is actively committed to environmental protection and sustainability.
