Sledging on Chäserrugg
The Chäserrugg area from a new perspective: on the sledge you experience traditional and sports sledge runs above Unterwasser. Enjoy 5.9 km of high-speed thrills in the Toggenburg and see out the invigorating day on the sun terrace of the Espel Pavilion.
Please be aware that for safety reasons no sledges, bobsleds or similar may be taken onto the Chäserrugg (summit) and onto the Rosenboden plateau.
The mountain run on Stöfeli
As one of the longest sledging run in Eastern Switzerland, the mountain run at Stöfeli provides a fascinating ride through the unspoilt winter landscape at the foot of the Chäserrugg.
After the start at the middle station on the Stöfeli aerial cable car lift, the run consists of extended curves over open snow inclines. When the run reaches the bottom edge of the forest, the view opens to reveal a panorama over the Toggenburg and into the Rhine valley. This run continues at Espel as far as Unterwasser or you can take the gondola to experience the high-speed mountain run once more.
The Stöfeli Mountain Inn with its sun terrace at the start of the run is the perfect place to take a break from sledging and enjoy a traditional snack or meal.
The Stöfeli sledging run is described as challenging and is therefore suitable for sporty and experienced sledgers. Information on safe sledging in the mountains can be found on the website of the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (BFU).
