Weekend in the snow

Weekend in the white mountain world of the seven Churfirsten: next weekend, 7 and 8 December 2024, you can ski again on the Alt St. Johann axis!

Skiing at the weekend

On Saturday, 30.11. and Sunday, 01.12.24 you can ski on the Alt St. Johann axis! The seven Churfirsten peaks are covered in white and the weather forecast has announced sunshine for the weekend.

A funicular railway carriage comes into being

New sound trail opened

The renewed sound trail with new and restored sound sculptures will be opened on Saturday, 18 May 2024.

Voralpencup on the Alp Sellamatt

On 24.02.2024 a race of the Voralpencup will take place on the Panorama cross-country ski trail. The cross-country ski trail and the winter hiking trail will therefore be closed until midday.

Swisstainable travelling

You can now use your ticket from the SBB app to board the mountain railway and travel to the summit. This makes the trip even more sustainable.

Night skiing on Friday

Skiing under the stars – an adventurous experience! On Friday, 08.01.21, the time has come and the night skiing will take place again.

Active relaxation in the fresh air

On the slopes and the winter hiking trails of the Chäserrugg area you can enjoy a unique view of the Churfirsten and have space for your sporting relaxation.

Chäserrugg area open

From December 31st the ski and hiking area will be open daily again. The restaurants will remain closed, but there is a small take away offer in selected restaurants.

Temporary closure

Due to the current decision of the federal government and the canton of St. Gallen, the operation of the railway facilities as well as the gastronomy businesses will be temporarily discontinued as of 22.12.2020.

Season start

On Wednesday 9 December begins the skiing operation in Alt St. Johann. Enjoy the first turns on the freshly snow-covered slopes.

With December, the snow has now also arrived and the last preparations are being made before the ski operation starts on 12 December 2020.

Mountains & lake in sight

From 28 to 30 November the railways will be in operation on the axis Unterwasser - Iltios - Chäserrugg. Enjoy the clear view of over 500 mountain peaks in 6 countries and escape the fog.

On Saturday and Sunday, 21 and 22 November, a number of the facilities and restaurants will be open and you can enjoy the beautiful November weather above the fog line.

Friday is hiking day

On 13.11. the funicular railway and the mountain restaurant Iltios are in operation. On 14 and 15.11., the cable car and the combined cable car also operate and the summit restaurant Chäserrugg is open.

Weekend operation on 7 and 8 November: While it is rather cool and mostly foggy in the valley, the sun shines on the mountain peaks and mild temperatures invite you to stay.

Enjoy the autumn season longer

Due to the announced beautiful autumn weather, the funicular railway from Unterwasser and the aerial cableway from Iltios will remain in daily operation until 25.10.2020.
