1st August - National Day celebration

On Thursday, 1st August 2024, a special Swiss National Day celebration awaits you at Chäserrugg. Enjoy the sunrise and a well-balanced breakfast on the summit in the early morning silence, or end the day with an atmospheric dinner and an incomparable view of the lights.

Sunrise with breakfast

Start your festive day with a view of over 500 peaks in 6 countries. The first ascent from Unterwasser at 5am will take you to the summit before sunrise. Watch the world of mountains awaken and with a bit of luck you may even see ibex on the Rosenboden plateau. Afterwards, a breakfast buffet with Toggenburg specialities and fresh bread awaits you.

Evening with musical entertainment on the summit

In the evening, between 6 p.m. and 9.30 p.m., culinary delights based on Toggenburg products are on offer, including classics such as cervelat and Olma Bratwurst from the grill, as well as raclette, cordon bleu and St. Johanner Meat Loaf. The kitchen also offers an excellent selection of desserts. The trio ‘rond om de Säntis’ with Katja Bürgler (Schwyzerörgeli), Peter Looser (bass) and Maya Stieger (violin and dulcimer) will entertain the evening with music.
