The Legend Trail
Family hike in mystical Toggenburg: the legend trail at Alp Sellamatt takes young and old into the world of giants, dragons and mountain trolls - with exciting stories, impressive panels and magnificent views of the Churfirsten mountains. A varied adventure hike for families in eastern Switzerland.

Giants, dragons and mountain trolls - let yourself be enchanted on the legend trail along the majestic Churfirsten peaks! The legend trail tells the legends of mystical Toggenburg on 12 panels throughout the entire hike. The large wooden panels with their drawings immerse young and old in the world of legends and the stories seem to come true.
From the mountain station at Alp Sellamatt, the trail first takes you through a small section of forest before you follow the legend trail across open alpine meadows over the Lämboden to the Lochhütte. In the immediate vicinity you will find a cosy fireplace with seating. After climbing a hill, the plain of the Thurtalerstofel opens up before you. The hike can be shortened here by connecting the two paths for younger hikers. The long loop leads to the Wildmannlisloch, a 150-metre-long cave that offers a welcome cool-down, especially on hot summer days. You then hike along the foot of the Churfirsten back to Alp Sellamatt.
