The extraordinary wedding venue on the mountain
You and your wedding guests ride on the funicular railway and cable car lifts from Unterwasser to reach the Summit Restaurant, which can be made private in whole or in part for you. You can look in wonder at the spectacular panorama from the terrace or Tenn while enjoying an aperitif. The restaurant, which has space for up to 300 guests, has an inspiring choice of refined cuisine. From a relatively informal buffet to a 6-course menu, our team prepares everything using high-quality and regional produce. We would be delighted to supply your wedding cake too.
Technical equipment for music and any kind of presentation can gladly be made available. The Alpzimmer room can be set up as a quiet space in which to withdraw. It would give our highly experienced events team great pleasure to assist you in the choice of decoration, table arrangements and programme for your wedding celebration.

Wedding party “Oh la la”
Toast your love with an aperitif on the terrace, where bar tables and seating invite your guests to linger a while. Afterwards we will treat you to a carefully selected 4-course menu in our banquet hall, before you cut the delicious wedding cake. During your celebration, the whole building is made private for you and your wedding guests.

Information
Location visit
We will be happy to make an appointment with you for a tour around the location. You will be shown the summit restaurant with the alpine room and the areas around the restaurant. This also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
Please book the train tickets for the tour directly online (Chäserrugg Ticket) or buy your ticket at the mountain railroad ticket office.
Provisional reservation of wedding date
If you liked it with us, we will be happy to provisionally reserve a desired wedding date. This provisional reservation is valid for 4 weeks.
Preparation of a non-binding quotation
With the provisional reservation we will send you a non-binding quotation with possible course of events, menu suggestions and beverage prices.
Planning
Confirmation wedding date
After you have confirmed the reserved date, we will make an appointment with you for the rehearsal dinner. This meal will take place earliest 3 months before the actual wedding day. For the rehearsal dinner, you choose in advance a meat and, if desired, a veggie menu, which you favor and would like to try.
With the definitive reservation of the date, a prepayment of CHF 1'000.- is to be made. Please note that this deposit will not be refunded in case of a later cancellation on your part.
Rehearsal dinner on the summit
At the rehearsal dinner we will define with you the menu and the drinks, the desired agenda for your day and all other details. The rehearsal dinner is also the perfect opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
The rehearsal dinner as well as the train rides are free of charge for 2 persons.
Booking & Table Plan
After the rehearsal dinner, we will send you a definitive confirmation, which will include the wishes and agreements made at the rehearsal dinner.
In addition, you will receive a table plan on which you can enter the names of your guests.
Get married
One week before the wedding
At this time please tell us the definite number of persons ( + / - 2 persons). This number is binding.
The wedding day
Just bring suitable weather, we have taken care of everything else.
The day after
On the day after the big party, the material can be picked up at the valley station in Unterwasser from about 09:00.
Included in the price are the ascent and descent of the guests as well as the transport of flowers and entertainment equipment. Three to four time slots are defined in advance for the possible descent of the guests. The last possible descent is at 02:00 in the morning.
The material for the party can be handed in at the valley station by 15.00 the day before and will be transported to the summit by the team.
Weddings can be organized on the Chäserrugg for parties from 50 up to 250 persons, children are not included in this number. The definitive number of guests is to be announced up to one week before the event. This number is then binding and will be invoiced as such.
The above prices are only valid for adults (persons 16 years and older) including mountain train ride. For children, the meal can be selected from the children's menu, the corresponding prices apply. The train ride is charged as follows:
- 0 - 6 years: free of charge
- 6 - 15 years: CHF 31
So that we can optimally coordinate the course of the event and guarantee you a smooth service, please let us know if you plan to take breaks during the meal for speeches or performances. Ideally, you should only schedule large breaks after the main course.
After Midnight, CHF 700.- is charged for each additional hour. The surcharge is already included in the "oh la la" offer until 01.00 am. The surcharge is also already included in the "chic & easy" offer until 02.00 am.
Regardless of the offer chosen, the last possible descent is at 02.00 am.
The rehearsal dinner takes place about three months before the wedding date. The mountain railway journey to the rehearsal dinner is included for these two persons. All other persons who also wish to attend the rehearsal dinner will be charged.
The schedule will also be fine-tuned at the rehearsal dinner.
Drinks like wine, beer, elderflower syrup, orange juice, prosecco and champagne are included during the aperitif, before or after they will be charged. Opened wine or mineral bottles from the aperitif can be used afterwards for dinner.
Our menu suggestions are a taste of our creative cuisine. We are happy to consider further guest requests. You have the option to choose plate service, buffet or a combination thereof.
The wedding cake is defined by the wedding couple in consultation with the confectioner Abderhalden Wattwil. The bakery will ensure delivery and transport to the Chäserrugg. If you do not wish a wedding cake or would like to organise one yourself, there is a price reduction of CHF 5 per person for the "oh la la" and "chic & easy" offers.
The flower arrangement can be organised by us or by the wedding couple themselves if desired. Transport to the Chäserrugg is provided by Toggenburg Bergbahnen AG. If you would like to organise the flower decoration yourself, please note the following table dimensions:
- Large tables: length 2.50 m, width 0.75 m
- Small tables: length 1.50 m, width 0.75 m
- Round bar tables: height 1.08 m, diameter 0.61 m
The building is open to day visitors until 17.00. Privatisation of the summit building is possible from 17.15. From approx. 15.00 , the team will start preparations in the banqueting hall.
On the Rosenboden plateau, benches with covers can be set up for a free wedding ceremony. This is already included in the "oh la la" and "chic and easy" offers. All other transports to the Rosenboden are charged at CHF 80/employee per hour.
The technical equipment is included in the "oh la la"/ "chic & easy" offers. These include:
- three screens for presentations
- one microphone
- one wireless microphone for sound reinforcement on the Rosenboden
- music system (suitable for background sound)
- flip chart
- Presenter's case
If you wish to bring your own wine, the following corkage will be made for the service and for the use and cleaning of the glasses:
- Wine: 40.- CHF/0.75l bottle
At the valley station in Unterwasser, parking is available free of charge.
Out of consideration for the environment and its animals, the following items are not permitted on the Chäserrugg:
- Fireworks
- Sky lanterns
- confetti bombs
- Fog machines
- Landing on the Rosenboden with helicopters
